We've bought several sheets from The Company Store before and after washing, the sheets always get softer and the smell goes away. We are using this sheet currently and it's already softer. We use natural detergent so I trust with another washing the smell will subside.

I put together a set of the Premium Smooth sateen sheets. Flat sheet is wonderfully soft and feels so cozy. But the Standard pillow cases are just huge. Both wider AND longer than standard. To large to use.

I bought this to go with the fitted version of this sheet that I love. This flat sheet seems heavy and not as soft as I expected. Hopefully washing the sheet numerous times will make it softer.
