The blanket is very nice and my dog likes to nap on it. However it gets unbelievably heavy when it's washed, and my brand new washing machine couldn't spin it. So I had to drag it out of the machine and drape it over a bucket in my tub so it could shed enough water that my washer could handle the weight of it. Next time it needs washing I will try a commercial laundromat so I don't risk breaking my washer.

It must be a popular product, because it was on back order for awhile, but I did finally get it, and my dog loves it! At first, I had to go back to my order to see if it was actually a dog blanket. Now I want one for myself, too. I didn't know what side of the blanket Singer would like better, but she bunches it all up and gets part of othe velvety feel and part of the sherpa as she makes her nest. She actually drags the blanket around the house with her she loves it so much. This blanket is well made and of high quality. I'm glad that I bought this for Singer who I love so much. She deserves all the warm cuddles in the world. I'm looking at her right now all cuddled up in the blanket next to my desk whle I'm working. So sweet! I highly recommend you try it, too!

Constructed with a special waterproof layer in between for added protection, is similar to the Cozy Plush Throw, Sherpa on one side and plush fleece on the other, 100% polyester plush. A: The waterproof layer in the Sherpa Waterproof Pet Blanket is: TPU (Thermo Plastic Urethane) Laminate - waterproof and (breathable ì microscopic pores which air passes but water due to molecular weight cannot). From technical paper. There is always a concern among pet parents when introducing a man-made product into the lives of their pets, especially something they are constantly exposed to, like their collars. The good news is that TPU is 100% non-toxic. We use for both our adult and baby waterproof bedding. It passes the most rigorous testing required for baby products. Chemicals of high concern to children (CHCC) Used in hospital applications as well. Thank you for your inquiry.
