Way too long
This thing is HUGE! 40” vs the advertised 36” and also an inch wider. Does this mean it will shrink? I also purchased the bed spread. Now I am unsure what to do. Will that shrink? Can I return these? They were on sale. :-/

We generally recommend washing all washable bedding prior to use after the manufacturing and packaging processes. Matelassé material is made to shrink to further bring out the wonderful design and will normally shrink when washed (machine wash cold, gentle cycle, tumble dry low). I purchased the Putnam Cotton Matelassé coverlet in Claret. Unfortunately I did not order the matching pillow shams. Do you have other suggestions for other pillow shams that might coordinate with the coverlet? My sheets are a gold/honey color.
