After five years our previous version of this dual zone comforter met an untimely demise with a cat accident. This new version is worse in two ways. The allegedly cool side is just as hot as the hot side whereas the previous model had definite difference in foam density between the two. The cooler side had smaller pockets with less foam. The new version still has the same smaller pockets but they are filled with just as much insulated material as the other side with the larger pockets so there is effectively no difference in heating and cooling. The fabric is also less soft and louder and more slippery. I suspect it might not be as breathable given how hot it is now. I thought I would be purchasing the same comforter but while this item has the same name it is substantially different. If you change a product of substantially you should also obviously change the name.

Great duality
I bought this for the duality which is hard to find. I love that one side is warmer than the other. I just wish it was a bit loftier for that extra plush feeling.

Hi Cindy. The LaCrosse™ Premium LoftAIRE™ Down Alternative Medium To Extra Warmth Comforter. We know that many couples have different temperature preferences when sleeping, that’s why our LaCrosse™ LoftAIRE™ Dual Down Alternative Comforter is simply genius. Each side of our dual comforter is crafted with a different warmth level—from lightweight to extra warmth—and encased in a soft 295-thread count twill shell, allowing optimum comfort for both of you.
Fill: LoftAIRE™ Down Alternative, is a lofty, recycled polyester fiber fill.
Shell: 295-thread count 100% combed cotton twill weave. When your comforter is new, you may notice a a slight crinkling sound that diminishes over time with use. This is simply the newness of the fabric. You may want to try fluffing your comforter in a large capacity dryer on the air fluff setting (no heat) with dryer balls. Also after the first laundering, you comforter will feel very soft with no rustling sound. For care we recommend: NOTE: For best laundering, use a front loading commercial machine without an agitator.
Machine wash cold, gentle cycle, with like colors and mild detergent.
Do not dry clean, bleach, or steam.
Tumble dry low, air fluff, or no heat. Dryer balls recommended.
Make sure to remove from the dryer periodically to make sure the fill is fluffing to full capacity in each square.
