I didn't have high hopes but I'm so glad I took the chance...I'm loving this comforter! I'm staying warm, actually sweating less, and enjoying how it gets softer with each wash. My hope for a tolerable solution has turned into the joy of having down-like warmth and cozy comfort that is washable. I wish I had taken the chance on this much earlier.

The loft of the comforter is determined by the fill and the warmth level of the comforter. This comforter comes in light, medium, and extra warmth. The light warmth that you ordered would not have as much fill as the medium and extra warmth and would, therefore, not be quite a puffy looking. Also, if you have not yet washed the comforter, washing according to instructions will also fluff it up, as the fill becomes constricted during the manufacturing and packaging processes. How to spot clean? I won't use a front-load washer because I did that with the last one I bought from you and it caused stuffing balls to poke through the cover and couldn't be removed with a lint brush because they were still attached to the down inside

Machine wash cold, gentle cycle, with like colors and mild detergent. Do not dry clean, bleach, or steam. Tumble dry low, air fluff, or no heat. Dryer balls recommended. Remove promptly from dryer. For your alternative down comforter I don’t know what warmth to get. I’m going to be using it in the fall and winter in Colorado and was going to go with medium warmth but I’m afraid that might be too hot. We just sleep with a sheet underneath no blankets

So, which comforter weight is ideal for you? That depends on your personal preferences and sleep style.

I just received my Lacrosse down alternative comforter. The weight and color are good but two days after being unpacked it is still very wrinkled. The fluff cycle in the dryer didn’t help. Is there any safe way to improve the appearance of this comforter?

Hi Linda. The LaCrosse™ Premium LoftAIRE™ Down Alternative Light Warmth Comforter - Porcelain Blue, Full/Queen. Due to the packaging, your comforter can appear a bit wrinkled and flat upon first removing. Once your comforter has fully fluffed up, it should appear full and the wrinkles will smooth out. From our comforter guide: "How Long Does it Take a New Comforter to Fluff Up?" When you first remove it from its package, a brand-new comforter might look disappointingly flat. Shake it out and lay it on the bed. Over the course of a few hours, the down will regain much of its natural loft. After that, give it a good shake each day to redistribute the fill. Some customers report that their new comforters continue to gain loft for a week or even two. Thank you for your inquiry.
