Hello. The Black Label PrimaLoft Mattress Pad has a 230-thread count cotton shell. Any new product with a 100% cotton shell may have a crisp newness feel to it. This does go away with time and use. Customer reviews say ""It's like sleeping on a cloud."" ""...well made, quality fabric, very comfortable."" Thank you for your inquiry.
