I live in a warm climate, and I chose the Down Alternative Light Warmth Comforter in Porcelain Blue (King/Cal King), and it’s honestly one of the best bedding upgrades I’ve made for the summer season.
First thing, I noticed how lightweight it is without feeling flimsy. It has that perfect balance where it keeps you comfortable but never overheats, which is a big deal for me since my hubby tends to sleep warm. Even on slightly cooler nights, it still feels cozy without being heavy.
The fabric is another highligh: it’s soft, smooth, and feels of much higher quality than typical summer comforters I’ve tried. It gives that “hotel bed” feel at home. I also really like how evenly the fill is distributed; it stays in place and doesn’t bunch up.
The Porcelain Blue color is subtle but beautiful, adding a clean and calming look to the room without being too bold.
Overall, it does exactly what it promises: lightweight warmth, breathable comfort, and a polished look. If you don't like overly heavy comforters and you still want something that feels cozy and well-made, this is absolutely worth it.

How to spot clean? I won't use a front-load washer because I did that with the last one I bought from you and it caused stuffing balls to poke through the cover and couldn't be removed with a lint brush because they were still attached to the down inside

For your alternative down comforter I don’t know what warmth to get. I’m going to be using it in the fall and winter in Colorado and was going to go with medium warmth but I’m afraid that might be too hot. We just sleep with a sheet underneath no blankets

So, which comforter weight is ideal for you? That depends on your personal preferences and sleep style.

I just received my Lacrosse down alternative comforter. The weight and color are good but two days after being unpacked it is still very wrinkled. The fluff cycle in the dryer didn’t help. Is there any safe way to improve the appearance of this comforter?

Hi Linda. The LaCrosse™ Premium LoftAIRE™ Down Alternative Light Warmth Comforter - Porcelain Blue, Full/Queen. Due to the packaging, your comforter can appear a bit wrinkled and flat upon first removing. Once your comforter has fully fluffed up, it should appear full and the wrinkles will smooth out. From our comforter guide: "How Long Does it Take a New Comforter to Fluff Up?" When you first remove it from its package, a brand-new comforter might look disappointingly flat. Shake it out and lay it on the bed. Over the course of a few hours, the down will regain much of its natural loft. After that, give it a good shake each day to redistribute the fill.
