It works for us.
On my bed. It is lovely, 100% cotton fleece, but pills badly after a few washes. I have no interest in polyester fleece, so must put up with the downsides. My dogs are allowed on my bed, so I cannot use any of the knit or delicate throws.

Hello ~ In the Cotton Fleece Throw/Blankets there is the color Plum. It is not listed online but is available by ordering through customer service. The Company Plush Blanket 85057 has a merlot. The Plush Blanket is 100% polyester plush. Thank you for your inquiry.
