This sheet is a soft 300-thread count 100% combed cotton sateen and is a great thread count. The sheets do get softer with each wash and are wonderful sheets. In reviewing your account, the first sheets you purchased were our 450-thread count wrinkle free fitted sheets (item E3U2) which were a higher thread count, and you have purchased various types of materials and thread counts since. Our printed flat sheets are designed to show the pattern when the sheet is folded over on the top of the bed. The printed side should be placed face down, so that the printed side is both toward the sleeper and face up when folded over the top of the rest of the bedding. You can see that in our construction trucks sheets! The fitted sheet accommodates mattresses up to 18 inches deep, and we are sorry if this did not fit to your satisfaction.
