The queen size duvet cover is designed to fit over our queen comforter of the same size, 90" x 96". If you are using this duvet to cover a queen size comforter, that is the size you should purchase. The king size duvet cover measures 108" x 96" and designed to fit our king size comforters of the same size. Our comforters and duvet covers will fit on top of your mattress and hang down just far enough on 3 sides to meet the top of your box spring or foot board if you have one, depending on the depth of your mattress. A traditional queen mattress is 60" x 80", so the comforter and duvet cover will cover the mattress with 15" overhang on each side and 16" at the foot of the bed. If you have a king comforter and duvet cover and place it on a queen mattress as you are asking, you will have 24" overhang on each side and 16" at the foot of the bed.
