Customer Reviews & Questions
Review Summary
Summarized by generative AI from text of customer reviews
Customers overwhelmingly praise the split-warmth design for solving temperature conflicts between partners, with most calling it a game-changer and marriage saver. Reviewers consistently highlight the fluffy down filling with no poking through, thick durable cover, and even distribution on each side. Many note the generous fit for thick mattresses and report buying multiple units or gifting them. A few mention the warmth combination still feels too warm for their climate, and several report minor issues like bunching or crunchiness, but these concerns are rare and vastly outweighed by widespread satisfaction and loyalty.

half light/ half medium works great!
This half and half comforter is the best I’ve ever had. Light, crisp, fresh and not too warm on my side. Plenty warm for my wife. Love it!

First comforter I've ever owned - feels like my first "adult" home purchase, haha. Ended up purchasing this one rather than a regular comforter because the other options were out of stock, but we've ended up loving it! Such a cool idea. My partner is a hot sleeper and I tend to be more cold, so the dual weight is perfect for us. I was hoping for a bit more loft/thickness just because I like to feel super cozy and like the extra weight, but I've ended up loving it and it's great for summer. I think I'd definitely purchase the medium to heavy weight for winter though. (we live in Virginia.) The texture is nice and smooth even without the duvet cover, and overall we're very satisfied with the quality! Haven't laundered it yet or owned it for very long so can't speak to longevity or effect of laundering.

Great for Beach House
The weight is perfect for my beach house. I like the smaller cables sewn in to keep the down in place. I should have bought a duvet cover as it's a little stiff against the skin. I will do that, but there are not many loops to keep cover in place

I need a small square year around feather comforter. Right now I have one of yours. It’s fine in the summer with the air conditioner and in the winter I add a blanket on top. What do you recommend. I would get a California king.

Does this need a duvet cover? And does this have a scent even after it’s dry? I’ve had a bad experience with other down brands with a lingering smell on the blanket and in the washer in the past.

The LaCrosse™ Premium Dual Down Light To Medium Warmth Comforter - White, Full/Queen. Using a duvet cover on your comforter is a personal preference. We recommend using a duvet cover, to protect your comforter, allow for easy cleaning, and provide a way to change the style of your bedding. We offer matching sheets, pillowcases and shams that match your duvet cover. By using a cover, you can extend the life of your more expensive comforter, washing the cover regularly to keep bedding fresh, and easily swap out the look of your bedroom with different colors and patterns. Down does not have an odor. If laundered according to instructions, your comforter should not have a odor after washing. Odor may occur if the down is not dried completely and remains damp. Thank you for your inquiry.

With the two warmths and two sizes of boxes will it look even with a cover on? Are both sides the same height in loft?

The Premium Dual Down Comforter. Warmth Levels: Lightweight/Medium Warmth and Medium Warmth/Extra Warmth. Smaller boxes are cooler, larger boxes are warmer. The size determines the amount of warmness. Due to this the sides will not be exactly the same. Once inside a duvet cover, the difference in the loft should not be very noticeable. Thank you for your inquiry.

On which measurement is the Dual Down Comforter split? For example, the Queen size is described as 90"" x 96"" - is each fill side 45"" x 96"" or 48"" x 90""?

Hi Susan. The Premium Dual Down Comforter in Queen size measures 90"" wide x 96"" long. Smaller boxes are cooler, larger boxes are warmer. The size determines the amount of warmness. For the Queen size the 90"" or the width way is split in half. Thank you for your inquiry.

In my opinion I love the crackling sound that a comforter makes when getting into bed. As one person said ""it's like getting into a paper bag"" I think that is what I'm shopping for. Which one would suit me?

I am looking at the dual weight comforters and am curious whether the down or the down alternative is fluffier and loftier? I will probably get the light/medium combo, if that makes a difference

Hi Kristin - Thank you for your inquiry. While the down and down-alternative fill are similar in warmth, the down will loft and fluff a bit more.
