Many factors may cause pilling on terry towels. New towels will lint initially, and it is recommended to wash new towels separately with like color towels to prevent pilling, being careful to avoid overloading the washer and dryer (friction from towels rubbing together when washing and drying, or washing with rough fabrics, can cause pilling). Online care instructions indicate to machine wash cold, gentle cycle, tumble dry low. We trust that this will help with the pilling issues you are having. Too Many Pulled Threads

It would be less noticeable if this was a solid color, but the dog design makes pulled threads very obvious. There are numerous after only a couple washes (see pic). They were a good price on Sale ... will keep them and use them to dry my Dog

Since your order was for clearance items which are not returnable, we are unable to allow a return of the towels. Many things can create pulls in towels during washing but we normally recommend washing towels separately which minimizes the risk of snags, pulls, and other damage to the looped material. Look closely at any pulls as most of the time they can be snipped off close to the towel without further damage occurring depending on the pull. It is good that you have found another use for the beach towel in question. If you should have additional concerns, please feel free to contact us at 1-800-323-8000.
