How to Mix and Match Kids’ Sheets and Other Bedding

With kids’ bedding collections that carry a theme or pattern across several pieces—from sheets and pillowcases to comforters, duvet covers, and quilts—you can combine different designs to your heart's content. Whether your home’s understated aesthetic carries to your kid’s room or they want a space as bright and busy as their personality, there’s a way to mix and match that will work for you. Here are some of our favorite approaches to creating a coordinated kids’ bedding look.

• Stock up on several kids’ sheets sets—ours include a flat sheet, fitted sheet, and one pillowcase for a Twin or two for Full/Queen—then switch the pieces to create a custom look. Pair a fitted sheet and pillowcase from one set with a flat sheet from another, and swap the next time you change bedding.
• Add a pop of pattern with a playful printed pillowcase. If you’re not ready to commit to multiple prints, mix solid color sheets with a pattern pillowcase—or vice versa—to add excitement and dimension to the bed.
• Create subtle contrast by combining pattern sheets with a coordinating kids’ quilt that showcases a charming scene that complements the print.
