I received the velvet blackout curtains in taupe from The Company Store, and although I haven’t hung them yet (I’m waiting for spring to switch from navy to taupe in my bedroom), I’m already impressed. The color is stunning! It’s a soft, warm taupe that feels timeless and elevated. It’s neutral without being flat, and I can already tell that it’s going to transform my space. The velvet feels rich and luxurious, with a subtle sheen catches the light in such a beautiful way. Even before installation, the quality feels substantial. They don’t make the room pitch black in full daylight, but they noticeably reduce brightness and glare, especially compared to standard curtains. The Company Store’s Vvet Blackout Window Curtain in 96 inch grey set of 2 are quality curtains. Straight out of the package I could tell the material was heavy like a velvet blackout curtain should be. They have no weird odor and needed minimal steaming to get the wrinkles out. The velvet is a light grey and is soft and luxurious. There is a polyester backed lining that provides the blackout effect. I have 10ft ceilings so the 96 inch curtains fit perfectly floor to ceiling. The curtains have a rod pocket and back tabs for two different styles of hanging. I opted for back tabs as it gives a clean, polished appearance with evenly spaced pleats when viewed from the front. Back tab curtains are ideal for a modern or formal aesthetic and work well with heavier fabrics, providing better light control and insulation due to their close fit to the wall. The blackout effect is great, though I think my IKEA double rod is not ideal for the effect. A rounded rod would completely block out all light from the sides, but the difference with these new curtain panels and my old ones are light night and day. I am very pleased with these! Read Less
