This ia our third down blanket, they last well, aren't too warm for our tropical climate, but toasty for the A/C. After five years or so the threads at the ends start to fail, then it is time for a new one!

I live in South Florida now, and never thought I would want a down comforter ever again. This year, the temperatures went down in the 30's, and our tiny furnace had difficulty keeping the house warm. I bought 3 space heaters, and decided to get a down comforter. I purchased the Premium Down Blanket, which is the lightest-weight comforter, and there were outstanding reviews, some from Florida people who liked it for use with air conditioning. The Down Blanket was on back order, and it recently was delivered to me. It's not in the 30's now. I keep the air conditioning set at 74 to 75 degrees. I was astounded at how comfortable this Down Blanket was. That's the amazing thing about natural fibers, they aren't too hot when it's warmer, and they are so warm when it's cooler. The Down Blanket is light weight, a gorgeous color (I got Sea Mist green), and so comfortable. I had been using a name brand polar fleece blanket, and the difference was so remarkable. I highly recommend this Company Store Down Blanket, for use on cooler nights or with air conditioning.

why are the squares left open (unstiched) at the hems? I have found the down tends to shift over and ends up in larger clumps at the bottom corners. I cannot understand why quality companies make and sell down comforters and blankets this way?

Hi MamaKC1988. The LaCrosse™ Premium Down Blanket. During construction, after being filled, our comforters and blankets are held on a large quilting frame while being sewn through into squares. The down is not able to shift from square to square. Although we stitch the comforter up to the sides as far as possible, the sewing machine is not able to stitch to the very edge, due to the comforter being held on the quilting frame, during this process. In normal use, we recommend to fluff or shake your comforter, rotate it on your bed, from side to side and head to foot. The down tends to move away from us, especially where we grab and pull the comforter at the top when we cover up. It will move back. You may also fluff your comforter in a large capacity dryer on the air fluff setting (no heat) with dryer balls. This will help to redistribute the down and curtail any shifting. Absent any of this, you may notice the down fill clinging to the inside of the fabric, or migrating to the corners of the squares, making some squares appear more empty than others. Not being stitched all the way to the very edge on the side squares, should not pose an issue with proper maintenance, as all of our comforters are constructed in this way. How much will hang over the sides of a California King since the largest you have is King?

Hi Denise. The Down Blanket in King size measures 108 in. wide x 96 in. long. This blanket is designed to fit a King size mattress that measures 78"" wide x 80"" long. Since a California King mattress measures 72"" wide x 84"" long, you will have 18"" overhang on each side and 12"" overhang at the foot of the bed. Thank you for your inquiry.

Hi Andrea. The LaCrosse Down Blanket has a duck down fill. Due to Federal Labeling Guidelines, our labels are required to read "" up to 75% down"". This is in case the down fill may not be all whole down clusters, but may include broken or clusters that are not whole. The down may be advertised as grey or white in color, for example, however may not be all grey or all white, but have a small amount of another color in the mix. Or, if any feathers may be in the mix. We may correctly advertise down fill, but cannot say 100% down. Thank you for your inquiry.
