I have purchased a few of these blankets over the past 5-10 years (and recommend them to my friends), so I was a bit surprised to see this one have an almost glossy sheen to it which gives off a polyester vibe and a cheap quality vs. the quality I normally expect from this blanket. I folded up the heavy, crackly, expensive duvet I bought from Scotland and slipped this onto the bed convinced I would be cold - this is Boston in Spring, temps can veer from the Sahara to the Arctic in a day. Hi Val. The Premium LoftAIRE Down Alternative Blanket is our lightest weight warmth blanket. We do offer our down and down alternative comforters in your choice of Light, Medium and Extra Warm. Our blankets and comforters are designed to provide light weight warmth. Even if you should choose a Medium or Extra Warm comforter, it will be very light as far as weight. The fill weight of the down alternative blanket in Twin is 19 oz, Full/Queen 26 oz. and King 31 oz. Thank you for your inquiry.

Hi Nan. The LaCrosse LoftAIRE Down Alternative Blanket is lighter than our light weight warmth comforter and is designed to be used without a duvet cover. The blanket has less fill and does not have corner loops that attach to the corner ties in our duvet covers. You may use a duvet with the blanket, however it will not be as fluffy as with a comforter and with no corner loops, the blanket will not stay in place. Thank you for your inquiry.

We recommend that you consult our Comforter fill weight temperature guide. https://www.thecompanystore.com/comforter-weight-fill-guide.html For an indoor temperature of 66 degrees, we recommend a comforter that is a Medium weight warmth. The Premium LoftAIRE Down Alternative Blanket is a lightweight warmth blanket and is not designed to be as lofty as our comforters, that are offered in light, medium and extra warmth weight. Your down alternative blanket will have loft. From our product guide: How Long Does it Take a New Comforter to Fluff Up? When you first remove it from its package, a brand-new comforter might look disappointingly flat. Shake it out and lay it on the bed. Over the course of a few hours, the down will regain much of its natural loft. After that, give it a good shake each day to redistribute the fill. Some customers report that their new comforters continue to gain loft for a week or even two. Thank you for your inquiry.
