The scalloped edges are adorable. I took a picture to showcase the thick stiching around the adges. We have a modern farmhouse and this style sham is PERFECT. (We also have the matching cover.) Is it 100% cotton. It's so soft it almost feels silky. I did read some other reviews, and some people noted that the scalloped edging is only on three sides? Not true for this one. These pillowcases are very comfortable and fit my pillows well. I especially like that the envelope opening is at the end because it makes them much easier to put on the pillow and keeps everything looking neat unlike the envelope style when its in the middle of the pillow. The scalloped edges are pretty, although they don't really stand up on their own. You could probably starch them if you wanted the scallops to look a little more structured. Since they're cotton, they can wrinkle, but I found that taking them out of the washer promptly and following the care instructions helps a lot. They've also been easy to wash. One thing to keep in mind is that because they're white, you may be able to see the color of the pillow underneath if you're not using a white pillow. Pet hair can also collect on the fabric, so that's something to consider if you have pets. The stitching appears to be very good quality. I haven't noticed any loose threads, holes, or other issues with the construction. Overall, they're comfortable, well made, easy to care for, and the scalloped detail gives them a really pretty finished look. I usually sleep with a silk pillowcase bc I am a hot sleeper but these being 100% cotton, seem to breath well and I dont get hot using them. I highly recommend these if you want great quality pillowcases constructed with natural fibers. Read Less
