Q:I came to look for a new pad cover for this mattress pad. I do not see one. The Company Store sold one in the pasy; I have one that I purchased last year and am a bit dissapointed because the zipper has broken and it is less than one year old.Asked on 7/14/2017 by Josh from Massachusetts
Q:How thick is this mattress pad? I'm curious about the thickness re: the queen sized version, specifically. Thank you.Asked on 5/15/2017 by Samantha from The Bronx
Q:If the fibers are treated to give it the antimicrobial feature, would this not then be chemically treated? Do you have a similar product without the antimicrobial feature? Could you explain further about the antimicrobial process? I would like something with no chemical treatment. Thank you.Asked on 2/12/2017 by Alison from United States
A:Hi Alison. The Black Label™ PrimaLoft® Mattress Pad. The antimicrobial characteristic is created from the fiber being treated with Trimethoxy sinyl propyl dimenthyl octadecyl ammonium chloride. The process is integrated into the fiber - it is not applied to the surface. This results in the antimicrobial characteristic will be present in the finished product up to 20 machine washes. The technology actually draws the organisms into itself and destroys them. It is effective against all problem microbes including bacteria, fungi and algae. It does not rub off or migrate onto the skin. All processes have been registered with global regulatory agencies and meet all requirements. We offer the MB36 300-Thread Count RDS Down Mattress Pad 300-thread-count combed cotton sateen shell is down-proof and meets Oeko-Tex® 100 standards –certified to be free of all harmful substances and chemicals.
Hypoallergenic 500-550 fill power white down. Thank you.
Q:Hi , like the question from "p" I wondered: exactly what is the "oz per square yard." of fill. So many of your products specify this, but not this one. I imagine the "ounce per yard" is the same for each size of this product (?isn't it?) , although the total ounces certainly changes with each different size, as you shared in the answer. However, without an "oz/ per yard" I can not compare this product to others. Thank you!Asked on 1/16/2017 by C from Asheville, NC
Q:My question is what is the actual sides made of? In a review on the web it shows someone saying its a stretchy material but in the other questions asked on here it was replied that it is a cotton material. Which is it? My mattress is only 10.5 inches thick will this fit ok?Asked on 1/12/2017 by Matt from VA
A:Hi Matt- The sides are made of cotton. The fabric itself does not stretch but the elastic around the bottom does. It will work on your bed. You may need to tuck any extra fabric in between the mattress and box spring. Thank you.
Q:What is the backing material on this mattress pad? Is it like polyester interfacing material or actual cotton? I have gone through a number of pads with the interfacing type and that disentegrates when washing/drying it.Asked on 1/3/2017 by Lori from Bay Area, CA
Q:I'm going to piggyback on a question asked by user Diana in September to be sure I understand the answer. Because I think my question is similar to hers. I understand the fill is primaloft and the fabric that is on the outside is cotton. (I have the black label comforter / duvet fill as example.) But I'm wondering if the fabric that comes down the side of this mattress pad is sold cotton, like that used in the top, or one of those mesh-stretch type fabrics on the side. Thanks so much.Asked on 11/20/2016 by dmmr
Q:Is it necessary to wash this before putting it on the bed the first time?Asked on 11/7/2016 by mattresspadseeker from PA
A:Hello. The Black Label™ PrimaLoft® Mattress Pad comes to you from our factory in Lacrosse Wisconsin. The fabric and fill are clean and it does not need to be washed before putting in on the bed. This is a personal preference. Thank you.
Q:How is it antimicrobial?Asked on 11/6/2016 by Kristin from New Oleans
A:Hi Kristin - The antimicrobial characteristic is created from the fiber being treated. The process is integrated into the fiber and is not applied to the surface. This results in the antimicrobial characteristic that cannot be washed out. It will last as long as the product itself. The technology actually draws the organisms into itself and destroys them. It is effective against all problem microbes. It does not rub off or migrate onto the skin. All processes have been registered with global regulatory agencies and meet all requirements. Thank you for your inquiry.
Q:Is there a chemical used to give it it's "anti microbial" properties?
I am looking for a cotton mattress pad that provides some protection of the mattress but does not have to be completely "waterproof", perhaps just water resistant. Any suggestions?Asked on 11/6/2016 by Kristin from New Orleans
