Q:Is this product used under or over the bottom fitted bed sheet?Asked on 9/27/2017 by Charlie from Grainfield Kansas
Q:Best low-tech, low-chemical way to wash, please.Asked on 9/25/2017 by BeeBop from Hudson River Valley
Q:Trying to decide between the two wool mattress pads.
Need more of a cooling effect and wondering if the thickness and/or
cotton backing makes a difference.
Also, do you make them anymore with the full skirt around like a fitted sheet?
Thanks.Asked on 9/20/2017 by Janet from Fort Lauderdale
A:Hello Janet - I don't think that either the backing or the thickness would have any effect on the cooling properties of the wool mattress pads. Either one will give you the temperature regulation for which they are known. A thicker pad would add a little more cushion and comfort. Another difference to consider is that the Imperial Wool Pad is washable and the Ultra Fleece is dry clean only. We currently do not offer any wool mattress pads with the fitted sheet design. Thank you for your inquiry.

Q:I have dust mite and seasonal allergies as well as asthma. As per instructions from ,my allergist, I use a zippered dust mite protector on our bed and wash all bedding (including mattress pad) once a week in hot water. How often can the Imperial Wool Mattress Pad be washed and at what temperature? I don't know much about the properties of wool, so I could use some advice as to whether this would be a good product for me. Thank you.Asked on 7/11/2017 by Terri from Farnham, VA
A:Hello Terri - Since wool is naturally dust mite resistant, the Imperial Wool Pad should be a good choice for you. An added layer of protection would be our allergy/dust mite covers, MB19 or MB22, along with the wool. You may want to see if your allergist thinks it necessary to wash wool in hot water. In general, we recommend that the mattress pad be covered to keep it cleaner so it would not need frequent washing. The recommended washing instructions are for cold water on a delicate cycle with a mild wool detergent and no bleach. Drying instructions are for low heat. We do not have any information regarding what would result from weekly washing in hot water. Thank you for your interest.
Q:How snug will this fit on a 10" all latex matress?Asked on 7/9/2017 by Kathleen from Massacusetts
Q:Hi, I have a soft pillow top mattress that I'm looking to firm up a little. Has anyone used this topper on top of a softer mattress and felt like it is firmer, or you sink less into your mattress with it on?Asked on 6/21/2017 by NeedFirmerMattress from NY, NY
A:Hi- The Imperial wool mattress pad is going to give more cushion and allow you to sink in more. We would recommend to use item # MB21 Quiet Waterproof Quilted Mattress Pad or item # MA80 400-Thread Count Waterproof Cotton Top Mattress Pad. Thank you.
Q:Trying to evaluate differences between wool mattress pads you sell. In order to be washable, is the wool made into a fiber then sewed to fabric removing the hide? Why does the more expensive mattress pad require dry cleaning only?Asked on 6/9/2017 by diane from Finger Lakes NY
A:Hi Diane. The Imperial Wool Mattress Pad. Wool is something that has been sheared, there is no hide. The Ultra Fleece Mattress Pad is 2" thick, has cotton backing and is 100% American Wool Pile. This type of wool is dry clean only. The Imperial Wool Mattress pad Has 1 1/4" American Merino Wool with 100% poly backing and is machine washable. Thank you for your inquiry.
Q:Is the wool mattress pad water resistant? We are hoping to protect a natural latex mattress from spills/accidents.Asked on 6/2/2017 by HS from undisclosed
A:It will wick up water efficiently, so it could protect by acting as a sponge, but fluid will seep through. However, I have used this over a standard mattress protector without issues.Answered on 6/9/2017 by Daxx from Chicago
