Q:I recently bought (and am returning) a mattress pad similar to this one from another company. I washed and dried it according to their directions and it, first and foremost, now smells even worse than it did when I took it out of the package (and that was pretty bad), and, after being washed, the lambs wool all clumped together. I am considering buying this one, but I want to make sure the washing issues will not be the same as this other one...which I currently have locked in the bathroom so the odor doesn't fill the rest of the house (it's really THAT bad).Asked on 1/11/2017 by Twin Mom from Tampa Bay, FL
Q:Just bought a very nice, but very firm memory foam mattress. I'm trying to find a mattress topper to soften it up a bit. I'm trying to decide between this wool topper or a baffled down alternative type topper. Which would add a more luxurious/soft "cloud-like" feeling?Asked on 1/9/2017 by SM from Austin, TX
A:Hello John - Wool mattress pads are great for relieving pressure points and would certainly add some softness to your mattress. However, the baffled down alternative type toppers would give you more of a cloud-like feeling. There are benefits to both styles and either one would add softness and luxury to your mattress.
Q:We just bought a firm inner spring type mattress. It has individual vertical pocketed coils inside with maybe an inch or so of foam topper built into it and a quilted top. I find the mattress to be uncomfortable with annoying pressure points that cause me to toss and turn. Will this wool topper covered by a fitted thin quilted cotton pad and a fitted sheet even out the lumpiness I am feeling from the mattress? I was going to go with a memory foam topper, but with all of the mixed reviews I am leaning towards this natural alternative. I also understand that this wool pad is free from toxic chemicals and odor. Your thoughts?Asked on 1/3/2017 by John
A:Hello John - Wool mattress pads are great for relieving pressure points. I think it would be a very good choice for your situation. You may not need another pad so I would try it with and without the quilted cotton pad to see which you prefer.
Q:Can this wool topper be used on top of a feather bed? Or should it be placed under a feather bed topper?Asked on 12/8/2016 by CW from Seattle, WA
A:Hello - Yes, you could use it either way but I think the comfort level would be best if you use the wool on top of the featherbed. I don't think you would get any of the benefits of the wool if you put it under the featherbed. I used a down mattress pad on top of a feather bed for years. It was wonderful!
Q:Does this mattress pad contain toxic flame retardant chemicals?Asked on 10/28/2016 by Rob from Harrison
Q:We have a king-size Tempurpedic mattress that is 12" deep. Will this pad Fit without shifting around? Our sheets are ill-fitting because of the mattress's depth, so I can't depend on them to hold it in place.Asked on 10/12/2016 by Tucsonan from Tucson, AZ
Q:I have a very old model of yours which has a foam backing. It is now crumbling. This one appears to have a different backing. Is this correct?
And,according to your advice, it is machine washable which the old one was not.Asked on 9/24/2016 by Judith from United States
Q:How important is it to use the straps? We have an antique bed that is between a queen and king. The queen will fall a little short on width and a king will be too big. If we use the queen, do straps have to go around the mattress or do you think it would stay in place without them?Asked on 9/22/2016 by kate
A:Hi Kate- With the Imperial Wool mattress pad we would recommend to use the straps. With out them the item will move around on the bed under your sheet. The straps are elastic and do have a good stretch to them. We would recommend to go with the queen size. We do have a 90 day return policy if the item does not work out for you. Thank you.
Q:Does a king sized one fit in a normal sized front loader washer/dryer?Asked on 9/17/2016 by Jennie from Park City, Utah
Q:How MUCH will it shrink when washed? Want to make sure it still covers the mattress of its stated size. Or do you need to size up to compensate for shrinkage? Also, does it mat or change texture when washed?Asked on 9/13/2016 by Joyce from IL
